BASF Ridivex Herbicide Receives US EPA Registration
Oct 20, 2026

BASF announced on October 19, 2026, that its Ridivex™ herbicide has received registration approval from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The company plans to launch the product commercially in 2027 for post-emergence weed control in corn.

Ridivex combines three active ingredients and is described as providing rapid knockdown and extended residual control. These functions address two aspects of weed management: controlling weeds present at application and maintaining control against subsequent emergence. For growers evaluating post-emergence programs, the practical value will depend on how those capabilities fit field conditions and application requirements.

The registration approval advances the product toward its planned commercial introduction. The immediate significance is a further option in preparation for corn weed management; any effect on purchasing decisions or field programs will depend on the launch and the product details available to growers.

Application timing, the weed spectrum covered and the duration of residual control will be useful points to examine in subsequent product information. The three-active-ingredient formulation alone does not establish how Ridivex will compare with existing treatments or what role it will play in resistance management. Those assessments will require details about the active ingredients, approved uses and field performance.
