SunSirs Chemical Price Report: Diethylene Glycol Rises 7.93% on October 27
Oct 28, 2026

SunSirs reported price increases across 30 chemical commodities in its October 27, 2026 monitoring report. Diethylene glycol was among the leading gainers, rising 7.93% on the day and 88.27% year on year. Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate also ranked among the strongest performers.

The results point to uneven price movements across the chemical market, with pronounced gains in selected products. The number of rising commodities alone does not establish a broad market recovery: that assessment also depends on the extent of declines elsewhere and whether gains persist across a wider range of products.

For diethylene glycol, the daily and annual increases offer two distinct comparisons. The 7.93% rise captures the immediate price movement, while the 88.27% increase places the price well above its year-earlier level. Neither measure, by itself, establishes the cause of the increase or indicates that the same pace will continue.

If higher prices persist, buyers of the affected chemicals could face increased costs when replenishing inventories or seeking new quotations. The immediate issue is therefore product-specific purchasing exposure. Subsequent price reports will help show whether the latest gains hold, reverse or extend to more chemical commodities.
