Alumina desiccant is a solid material with high porosity and dispersion, with a large specific surface area and strong affinity for substances with strong molecular polarity such as water. The main uses of alumina desiccant are as follows:


Industrial gas drying: In industries such as petrochemicals and natural gas, it is used to dry industrial gases such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, remove moisture from them, and prevent equipment corrosion and catalyst poisoning. For example, in the production of synthetic ammonia, ensuring that the gas entering the synthesis tower is dry can help improve the efficiency and quality of synthetic ammonia.


Air drying: In air compression systems, it can effectively remove moisture from compressed air, preventing equipment damage, pipeline corrosion, and malfunction of pneumatic tools caused by the presence of moisture. Commonly found in places with high air quality requirements such as compressed air stations in factories and painting workshops.


Liquid drying: used for dehydration and drying of organic solvents, transformer oil, and other liquids. For example, in the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used to dry organic solvents to ensure the purity and quality of the drug production process.


Catalyst carrier: Due to its high specific surface area and good chemical stability, alumina is often used as a carrier for catalysts, loaded with various active components, and widely used in catalytic reactions in fields such as petroleum refining and chemical industry to improve the activity and selectivity of catalysts.


Air separation: In air separation equipment, it is used to adsorb moisture and carbon dioxide from the air, ensuring the purity of separated gases such as oxygen and nitrogen, and meeting the demand for high-purity gases in industrial production.


Electronic product manufacturing: In the production and storage process of electronic components, aluminum oxide desiccant is used to prevent electronic products from getting damp, avoid short circuits, corrosion and other problems, and ensure the performance and reliability of electronic products.


Food and drug packaging: Although commonly used desiccants in food and drug packaging are silica gel, in some special cases, aluminum oxide desiccants that have been processed to meet food and drug safety standards can also be used for humidity sensitive food and drug packaging to extend their shelf life.
