Aluminum oxide balls (mainly composed of Al ₂ O ∝) play a versatile role in the industrial field due to their high purity, high hardness, high temperature resistance, and chemical stability. According to different application scenarios, its functions can be divided into the following categories:

1、 Catalyst support and reaction promotion

petrochemical industry

As a carrier in catalytic cracking and hydrogenation reactions, platinum, palladium and other metal catalysts are loaded to improve reaction efficiency and selectivity, such as converting heavy oil into light oil.

Environmental protection field

Automotive exhaust purification: As a ternary catalyst carrier (such as platinum catalyst), it promotes the conversion of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides into harmless gases.

Waste gas treatment: Absorb harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides in industrial waste gas to reduce environmental pollution.

2、 Adsorption and Purification

Fine processing of materials

With high hardness (Mohs hardness ≈ 9) and wear resistance, it is used for grinding ceramics, electronic materials (such as lithium battery positive electrode powder), drug particles, etc., to improve particle size uniformity and product performance.

Application in the chemical industry

Disperse pigments, coatings, and inks to ensure fineness and uniformity, and improve the quality of finished products.

4、 High temperature and insulation materials

High temperature environment stabilizer

High temperature resistance up to 2050 ℃, used as filling material or insulation layer for high-temperature furnaces to reduce heat transfer and protect equipment (such as synthetic ammonia conversion furnaces).

Ceramic reinforcing agent

Added to ceramics to improve hardness, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance, suitable for kiln lining or ceramic cutting tools.

5、 Thermal conductivity and electronic materials

Cooling solution

Spherical alumina (such as SAT/SAF series) is filled in silicone and epoxy resins due to its high thermal conductivity (30W/(m · K)) and low viscosity, and is used for electronic device heat sinks, LED lampshades, and chip packaging, effectively reducing operating temperatures.

Insulation and dielectric properties

As an insulating filler in copper-clad laminates and circuit substrates, it enhances the dielectric properties of materials (dielectric constant 8.2-9.0).

6、 Other functional applications

Chromatographic analysis: as a stationary phase for separating compounds.

3D printing: high sphericity and high temperature resistance, suitable for printing complex components in the aerospace and medical fields.

Tower packing: Optimize gas-liquid distribution and improve catalyst utilization in chemical reactors, such as coal to methanol plants.
