Key Technical Advantages
- ✔ Highest Theoretical Capacity: Type X crystal lattice offers significantly higher water and gas loading capacity than 3A, 4A, or 5A sieves.
- ✔ Co-Adsorption Efficiency: Simultaneously removes H₂O, CO₂, H₂S, and heavy hydrocarbons in a single bed step.
- ✔ Superior APG Performance: Engineered for cryogenic air pre-purification to prevent CO₂ and moisture icing in cold boxes.
- ✔ Exceptional Crush Strength: High mechanical resistance ensures zero structural collapse under high pressure bed switching.
Molecular Adsorption Capability
With a 10 Å pore size, 13X adsorb almost all molecules that can enter 3A, 4A, and 5A, plus larger critical-diameter compounds:
READILY ADSORBED (< 10.0 Å)
H₂O, CO₂, H₂S, Mercaptans, Branched Hydrocarbons, Aromatics (Benzene, Xylene), Di-n-butylamine
REJECTED / EXCLUDED (> 10.0 Å)
Tri-n-butylamine, Perfluorotributylamine, Polymeric compounds with kinetic diameter > 10 Å
Primary Industrial Target Applications
Air Separation Units (ASU / APG)
Removes H₂O, CO₂, and trace hydrocarbons from air feed prior to cryogenic liquefaction.
Natural Gas Desulfurization
Sweetening of LNG/natural gas by stripping H₂S, mercaptans, and organic sulfur compounds.
PSA Oxygen Generation
Used in specific pressure swing adsorption setups for nitrogen removal and enriched O₂ output.
Aromatics & Solvents Purification
Deep drying and impurity removal from bulky hydrocarbon streams (Benzene, LPG, Toluene).
Regeneration Temperature & Handling
Thermal Regeneration (TSA): Molecular sieve 13X can be regenerated by heating to 200°C – 310°C under dry gas purge conditions. Do not exceed 450°C to preserve structural lattice.
