Product Description
Molecular Sieve 13X (or 13X Zeolite) is a synthetic, porous aluminosilicate with a uniform pore size of approximately 10 angstroms (Å). It is widely used across industries for separation, purification, and drying processes based on molecular size and polarity.
Its high surface area, selective adsorption properties, and ion-exchange capability make it versatile for targeting molecules like water, carbon dioxide, and sulfur compounds.
Gas & Liquid Drying/Purification: Deep drying of natural gas, air, and inert gases by removing water vapor (H₂O). Critical in pre-purification of air before cryogenic separation (air separation units) to remove both H₂O and CO₂.
Desulfurization: Removal of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and mercaptans from natural gas streams and liquid hydrocarbons.
Laboratory Use: As a common drying agent for solvents and reagents, and as a stationary phase in chromatographic separations.
Biogas/Landfill Gas Upgrading: Purifies raw biogas by removing CO₂, H₂S, and moisture, increasing its methane content for use as renewable natural gas.
Carbon Capture Research: Studied for post-combustion CO₂ capture (CCS) due to its high adsorption capacity for carbon dioxide from flue gases.
Hydrogen Purification: Used in pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems to purify hydrogen (e.g., from steam methane reforming) by removing CO₂ and other impurities.
Medical Oxygen Concentrators: A key adsorbent in PSA-type oxygen generators, separating nitrogen from air to produce 90-95% pure oxygen for medical use.
Automotive Emissions Control: Acts as a hydrocarbon trap in vehicle exhaust systems to adsorb unburned hydrocarbons during a cold engine start.
Nuclear Waste Treatment: Researched for the immobilization of radioactive cations (e.g., Cs⁺, Sr²⁺) in nuclear wastewater via ion exchange.
Thermal Energy Storage: Investigated for adsorption heat storage systems, utilizing its water adsorption/desorption cycle to store and release thermal energy.
Drying: Deep dehydration of gases and liquids.
Purification: Removing CO₂, H₂S, and other impurities.
Separation: Separating O₂/N₂ (air), n-paraffins/iso-paraffins, etc.
Catalysis & Support: Serving as a catalyst or catalyst carrier.
Packaging: 200L Steel drum / 25KG paper drum or per customer' s request.
Storage: Avoid damping and any adsorption of water or organic substance before use. Otherwise it must be regenerated.
