Macroporous alumina microspheres

Macroporous alumina microspheres

Activated Alumina Ball
Alumina microspheres are a new type of catalyst carrier. They have the characteristics of fine particles, large specific surface area, and fast surface catalytic reaction speed. At the same time, they are easy to impregnate and load elements such as rare earth metals. The produced catalyst has high activity.

Product Description

Macroporous Alumina Microspheres (γ-Al2O3 / α-Al2O3)

Engineered with a highly controlled macroporous structure, narrow particle size distribution, and low fluid resistance. Ideal as high-performance catalyst supports, chromatographic media, and specialized fluidization carriers.

Pore Diameter: 50 - 500 nm      Particle Size: 20 - 150 μm (Micron)      Spheric Rate: 95%

Macroporous alumina microspheres

Precision-engineered macroporous alumina microspheres featuring high mechanical strength and uniform pore distribution.

Key Material Advantages

  • Tailored Macroporous Architecture: Interconnected macropores significantly reduce intraparticle diffusion resistance, enabling rapid mass transfer for bulky molecules and polymer catalysts.
  • High Sphericity & Fluidity: Excellent spherical morphology (≥ 95%) ensures superior flowability, uniform packing density, and reduced abrasion in fluid bed reactors.
  • Tunable Phase & Pore Volume: Available in both active Gamma ($gamma$) and inert Alpha ($alpha$) crystalline phases with customizable pore volume ($0.45 - 0.85 text{ cm}^3/text{g}$).
  • Superior Thermal & Hydrothermal Stability: Resists pore collapse and sintering during high-temperature reaction and catalyst regeneration cycles.

Target Industrial Applications

Macroporous alumina microspheres

  • Fluidized Bed Catalyst Supports: Uniform micro-spherical shape prevents bed channeling and attrition loss during high-velocity fluidization processes.
  • Heavy Oil Hydrotreating & Demetallization: Large macropores easily accommodate heavy metal deposits (Ni, V) and bulky asphaltene molecules without clogging pore channels.
  • Bio-Separation & Chromatography Media: Excellent stationary phase for macroporous purification of proteins, enzymes, and natural pharmaceutical extracts.
  • Polymerization Catalyst Carriers: Provides uniform active site distribution and ideal pore space for polyolefin and specialty chemical synthesis.
